Our holiday Lets are in a beautiful part of Suffolk, under an hour from London and approx 40 minutes drive from Stansted airport. Set behind gates within 9 acres of private grounds overlooking Hundon Grange, a Grade II listed property, part of which dates back over 400 years. Suffolk Retreats offers the perfect setting for a safe and secure family holiday base. An ideal place for a romantic break, great for sophistated hen groups and perfect for large family get togethers. So whether you are looking for a self contained holiday let or want to find out about the new Glamping craze and stay in a luxurious traditional Mongolian Yurt under the stars - look no further.
The Granary Awarded 4 star gold commendation for the 3rd year in succession. 3 bedrooms sleeps up to 6 or combine with our new Granary annexe family room sleeping up to 10 adults.
Granary Annexe Large Family room sleeping up to 4 adults., in 1 x double bed and 2 full sized bunk beds, with ensuite bath and shower facilites. Can be hired independantly or with The Granary.
2 x luxury Mongolian Yurts which both sleep up to 5 adults in each.
1 x luxury Mongolian Yurt which sleeps up to 2 adults.
Cottage Room which sleeps up to 2 adults in double room with waterside views.
Children will love our 4 American Miniature horses and noisy little donkey....

The Granary, a former grain store, was painstakingly converted to offer stylish contemporary flexible accommodation and opened as a holiday let in 2012 and extended at the end of 2013. It now offers self contained, luxury self catering accommodation with spacious living area with Flat screen TV, & DVD player. It has 4 well decorated separate bedrooms all with ensuite facilities. Master bedroom has king sized bed and also has whirlpool bath. New optional family room annexe has double bed and 2 full sized bunk beds, with ensuite bath and shower. Outside there is a private BBQ area. Set behind gates with wonderful views across open countryside. The perfect place to relax and unwind. GALLERY

Traditional Mongolian Yurts are both elegant and sophisticated and bring a whole new way of camping outdoors or glamping as it has become known. Spacious accommodation, tastefully furnished, in an idyllic setting. in the lovely Suffolk countryside. An under the stars experience you will never forget in a peaceful and tranquil location for a truly relaxing away from it all break. Yurts have all linen provided and each Yurt has it's own cooker/wood burning stove. Wood is included in the price.
Cottage Room. A lovely double room, with original beams and thatched roof, just a few minutes walk from The Granary and Yurts. Situated at the end of the original main cottage, which is over 400 years old. Decking area outside with tranquil waterside views. Bedding and towels provided.
Note: Cottage room has no ensuite and currently shares out door toilet/shower block with Yurt guests.
All guests also enjoy complimentary use of our Games area with air hockey, darts, football table, table tennis table, giant chess set and croquet on the lawn.
Games area also has sofas, fridge/freezer, tv and microwave which you are welcome to use.

Children are welcome but it must be noted that they will need to be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult around the pond area and that the quiet enjoyment of others must be respected.

Suffolk has so many places of interest. Visit Clare just 3 miles away (the smallest town in Suffolk) and the Clare Priory and Country Park, or Cavendish with its antique shops, designer boutiques and traditional pubs. Long Melford known for its two fabulous historic buildings Kentwell Hall and The National Trust's Melford Hall. Nearby Lavenham has over 300 exquisite buildings and holds the title Best Preserved Medieval Village as well as its church and quaint tea shops or treat yourself to a meal at The Angel Pub run by famous chef Marco Pierre White. Why not visit Suffolks historic market town of Bury St. Edmunds, with its extensive shopping area, Abbey and Gardens, or perhaps the famous horse racing track and museum at Newmarket, just a 40 minute drive. Explore Cambridge, this wonderful University City. Why not try punting on the river Cam.? Hedingham Castle and Colne Valley railway too should not be missed.
